Tory Lanez may be locked away, but Megan Thee Stallion still feels as if he’s harassing her from prison through social media and third parties, according to her recent filing. As we previously reported, earlier this month, Megan filed a temporary restraining order against Lanez, claiming that he has allegedly enlisted blogger Milagro Elizabeth Cooper to “bully, harass, and further victimize” her through online commentary and interactions.
“Despite being sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Ms. Pete, Mr. Peterson continues to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimization,” her request alleged. The filing noted that the “continued harassment” has caused Megan “severe emotional distress and reputational harm.”
Now, Lanez filed a motion on Tuesday, December 24, addressing the temporary restraining order request filed by the Houston rap star. According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE Magazine from the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County, Lanez’s legal team claims that Megan “has improperly decided to use the Los Angeles County civil court to file a frivolous request for civil harassment restraining order against Daystar Peterson, who has had zero direct contact with Ms. Pete.” His legal team continued saying…
“When a celebrity with millions of dollars and backed by a large corporation disagrees with free speech or opinions, they weaponize the justice system, failing to understand that they are public figures who voluntarily catapulted themselves into the limelight, unable to deal with the controversy and public opinions,” the documents read in part. Further trying to prove his point, Lanez references California Code of Civil Procedure § 527.8, which, according to his filing, “prohibits courts from issuing restraining orders that restrict constitutionally protected speech. The statute ensures restraining orders.”
The legal documents further state, “Rather than rebut the commentary or debate the issues raised by Defendant’s comments so people can make up their own minds, Plaintiff has succumbed to the current trend of using the legal system in an attempt to cancel those opinions she disagrees with.”

As we previously reported, Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, shot the Grammy winner in the feet during an argument after a party in 2020. He was handed down a 10-year prison sentence for the crime.
