New Details: Rapper David Sabastian’s Girlfriend Was Involved In DTL Hostage Situation — Suspect Dead
A chaotic scene broke out Friday night in downtown Los Angeles where a man held someone hostage and had an hours-long standoff with police.
A video that has since gone viral showed the suspect holding a gun to the hostage’s head. Moments into the clip, things got more intense as law enforcement barged into the apartment and shot the suspect down. The man was declared dead at the scene. So far, LAPD has not released the name of the suspect.
However, what we do know is that the woman involved is the girlfriend to Warner Records LA rapper/designer/activist David Sabastian. Thankfully, she was not physically harmed but was taken to the hospital for a full examination. David spoke about the situation on Instagram. He wrote, “This is not the set of a action Movie… this is or WAS my apartment. A man went on a shooting spree and out of all the buildings downtown and out of all the apartments in the world … he decided to break into my shit. He held my friend at Gunpoint and God be to glory that she is ALIVE. It’s crazy because a day prior, I had thrown a party and was so proud of the home I built , especially after all I’ve been through and now… it’s Rubble , broken wood , and bullet holes 😔 but I taught me a valuable lesson and that’s that none of this matters , all that matters is my friend made it out with her life because New couches and TVs can be replaced , LIFE CANT. According to CBS, LAPD Detective Meghan Aguilar told reporters that prior to the hostage situation, the suspect actually went into a nearby business where he threatened a family and then opened fire and injured a 14-year-old boy. He was just grazed in the arm by a bullet. But from there, he attempted to carjack a woman at gunpoint. “He also accosted a woman on the street, put a gun to her head, and pulled the trigger,” Aguilar said. “Luckily, the gun did not go off.”
