Netflix Fires Organizer Of Trans Employee Walkout
Netflix has reportedly fired an employee who organized a transgender walkout in protest of the Dave Chappelle Netflix special. Per reports, the employee allegedly leaked confidential information out to the press while also spearheading the protest.
The organizer of the event, who is reportedly Black and pregnant, has been fired according to The Verge,
“We have let go of an employee for sharing confidential, commercially sensitive information outside the company,” a Netflix rep said in a statement on Friday. “We understand this employee may have been motivated by disappointment and hurt with Netflix, but maintaining a culture of trust is core to our company.”

Apparently, the leaked information included internal stats that were featured in a Bloomberg report about the cost of Chappelle’s special and their profit.
“All these white people are going around talking to the press and speaking publicly on Twitter and the only person who gets fired is the Black person who was quiet the entire time,” said a former employee to The Verge. “That’s absurd, and just further shows that Black trans people are the ones being targeted in this conversation.”
