NeNe Leakes Reportedly Wants Andy Cohen’s Rival Kathy Griffin To Help Her In Racism Lawsuit Against Bravo

While Nene Leakes is still believed to be having ongoing negotiation talks with Bravo to settle her racism and toxic work environment lawsuit against the network, she is hoping to get a helping hand from Kathy Griffin should things derail during the arbitration.

As fans will recall, the reality star sued Bravo, Andy Cohen, and NBC in April, claiming that they entertained and fueled a rickety workplace, particularly for women of color, and that she had been discriminated against by executives for years. According to Radar Online, Nene is now hoping to get a helping hand from Kathy, who, too, had previously complained about the toxicity over at Bravo and how Andy allegedly treated her “like a dog.”

The comedienne would act as a witness if the case was to go to trial — a move which the defendants seemingly want to avoid. “Kathy was one of the first-ever stars on Bravo,” a source said. “Kathy knows everything about Bravo and Andy. She was there from day one and saw how the machine operates. NeNe knows that.”

Kathy would be a key figure in the case given the long-standing history she shares with not just Bravo but Andy Cohen, who was her former boss at the media firm. Back in July 2019, the 61-year-old famously alleged that the “Watch What Happens Live” star had treated her poorly while she worked for him, which ultimately led her to endure a miserable time at Bravo.

While speaking to PEOPLE about her dislike for Andy, she gushed, “And also, you know, the guy…he decides the entire slate at Bravo, and yet he gave himself a talk show [Watch What Happens Live] that magically gets renewed every year! So you know, I had a talk show at Bravo for two years that got canceled. And I thought yea..it’s sort of competition for Andy.”

Nene getting Kathy on board would make her case that much more credible, given that the latter had also alleged how Andy would offer her cocaine before going live on his show, which would fit into the belief that Bravo encourages and entertains toxicity and bad behavior at work.

While the TV exec has vehemently denied these claims in the past, Kathy stood by her words, insisting, “Right before we went live, Andy Cohen privately asked me in an office in Embassy Row — which is the production company that does that s— show — if I wanted to do blow.”

“You guys know I’m no prude but I’m like, kind of a straight edge — I thought he was kidding the first time. Just so you know, Jimmy Kimmel or Seth Meyers never asked me to do blow before going on their show. No one from ‘The View’ has ever asked me to do blow before a show.”
