TMZ reports Tyson posted the following caption on Instagram with a picture of the asteroid hurtling towards Earth. It reads, “Asteroid 2018VP1, a refrigerator-sized space-rock, is hurtling towards us at more than 25,000 mi/hr.” Thankfully, the space rock is not huge enough to have a devastating impact on the entire planet he adds.

“It may buzz-cut Earth on Nov. 2, the day before the Presidential Election. But it’s not big enough to cause harm. So if the World ends in 2020, it won’t be the fault of the Universe.”

Although NASA already reported on Asteroid 2018VPI, it said its trajectory towards Earth and its possibility to hit the U.S. is at one percent since it is 6.5 feet in diameter. However, we DON’T know where in the U.S. it may possibly hit since the space station says there are three possible hits of impact.
