NBC Reporter Hit With Flash Bang Grenade During Live Broadcast

As protests across the country grow in the fight for justice for George Floyd and many other black lives, the police, and national guard presence also grow.

An NBC News reporter who was covering George Floyd protests in Seattle was hit with a flash-bang grenade during a live broadcast.

The entire incident was caught on video with reporter Jo Ling Kent being hit by the device. Her crew quickly fled the area. The grenade was most likely thrown by tactical teams who were trying to get people to leave the area.

“Oh my gosh,” she screams as she’s ushered off-camera by a security team, as someone else yells, “F–k!”

Kent later tweeted that she and her crew were safe.

“Hey everyone. Thankfully, our whole team is ok and safe. I’m totally fine – my jacket sleeve got singed and that’s it,” she wrote. “So sorry for the curse words.. and thank you for the sweet texts, calls and tweets.”
