The NBA has investigated a disturbing allegation involving Oklahoma City Thunder player Josh Giddey,21, and his alleged relationship with a minor.

According to TMZ, the association is aware of the claims that Giddey is allegedly involved with a high school girl. However, the player has remained silent after being asked about the allegations. “I understand the question, obviously, but no further comment right now. I get the question, guys. I completely understand you want to know about it. But just for right now, I don’t have anything to say.” he said. Following the allegations, Giddey has removed his Instagram profile picture and disabled all comments.
The allegations began when several tweets on X uploaded Snapchat photos of Giddey and a 15-year-old girl where she allegedly bragged about sleeping with him after posting a photo with him shirtless and another where he was hugging her from behind.

An OKC Thunder spokesperson did not release a statement, and Coach Mark Daigneault said the situation was a “personal matter”: “I have no comment on it. That will be my answer to anything related,” he said to the Washington Post.
After news of the allegations, fans had their own opinions about it and asked where was the teen’s parents and questioned why he was hanging out with a teenager. “Everyone’s failing her he’ll she’s failing herself too. They all know it’s wrong by their states standards. But he not going to jail just line some pockets,” one user wrote. Another said, “I had no idea the NBA had a crimes against children unit. I guess Oklahoma law enforcement can sit this one out.” The legal age of consent in Oklahoma is 16 years old. This means that it is illegal for a minor who is 15 years old or younger to have consensual sex with an adult who is at least 18 years old.
Giddy was the no.6 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft and averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists throughout his career. He also received the NBA All-Rookie honors in 2022.
