Kevin Durant and Michael Rapaport had a heated exchange via DM which revealed the NBA player used threatening messages and several anti-gay slurs as reported by ESPN. Rapaport posted the DMs on his Twitter page earlier this week after he revealed that he was surprised by the message he received from Durant back in December 2020. The tweet reads,I receive threats and disgusting messages DAILY, but never in my wildest dreams did I think @KDTrey5 would be among them. The 🐍himself is now threatening me, bringing up my wife, and wants to fight. This is supposed to be America’s sweetheart right? #ImDaRealMVP”

Despite facing backlash from fans who didn’t agree with the actor posting the screenshots, Nets Coach Steve Nash said the NBA had a talk with Durant about the messages. In his apology, he states that he doesn’t want to be seen in a different light due to the language he used in the screenshots.

“I’m sorry that people seen that language I used. That’s not really what I want people to see and hear from me, but hopefully, I can move past it and get back out there on the floor.”
