As an ordained servant of God Yahweh and believer of the Nazarene (Jesus Christ) the one true son of God, I have all that I need in this life. Fashion is a covering of the flesh – and should be done in majesty and reverence to God as a form of honor . God is the most perfect builder and creator, and humans can’t comprehend The story of His Creation most especially what I consider to be his best creation; Woman. As a designer, my work is driven by a desire to honor God who breathed the gift of creativity and the ability to parade myself in humility and grace – this is the swag. That confidence in Christ in whom God is well pleased is the swag. It is the feeling when you put on the armor of God, and this is the philosophy of the brand Nazarene Amictus. I elevate God in my creativity, It’s His brand and I’m only but a vessel and He directs my ways and i follow. I alone with God knows how it all began and I’m pleased at the pace and direction I am going. He finds the right audience for me. I’m not in it for social media but in social media for all and for those who see to witness the glory in the works of my hands. For those who may not and haven’t seen, i hope that they will witness someday. There is so much one can do but believing that every plan we make is in Gods hands gives us the courage to attempt the impossible. He isn’t an algorithm that decides your growth or visibility but one who decides your success through faith. Nazarene Amictus is faith driven and biblically inspired. There’s a lot going on in the world and the best place to hide is the safest place which is in Christ Jesus. Safer to be with him than anywhere else to be honest. So I praise him through fashion the best way I can or know how.
My inspirations or design styles are communicated through light, and light for me is the place of joy, contentment and fulfillment. It is in those moments I see and feel what next to create. Spiritual awareness sets your eyes, heart and mind to understand what’s next or what’s expected of you and in those moments you find out that once you make the very first move, there’s a voice, situation or that somebody who further provides the confidence to pursue what he has made perfect for you. It is easy for one to fault the vision of others because they know not of the intention behind the vision and also difficult for one to understand because they are completely ignorant of the purpose of the conceiver or visionary. Speaking from a place of personal experience and truth, I have sometimes questioned the altitude of many and the stability of others. But still I find not the right answer because everyone has a different purpose in life. God determines our power and freedom. He alone shapes his work as he so pleases. It’s a balance. For me, He made me and thus shapes me and in all I praise him through thanksgiving. Everyday and moment is a thanksgiving. Everyday I create a new piece it’s a show of praise or exaltation. I often wonder if I’m doing something right or wrong? If I’m representing him well through my work. Personally for me, it’s different. It’s something that not everyone has the ability or capacity to understand but I’m dealing with it the best possible way based on the knowledge behind the brand intent or philosophy. I believe at the perfect time things will shape itself to suit his will and my purpose fulfilled.
Establishing the brand Nazarene Amictus all started as a thanksgiving. I have walked through the valley and shadows of death and here I am. It was only through Christ and Gods mercy I still have breath in me. His unconditional love is indescribable but I’m sure many can relate. This is my give back. Nazarene Amictus is my little contribution for life and unmerited love. He constantly gives and for so much, we should give back no matter the measure. This is and remains the simple truth behind establishing Nazarene Amictus; a creation I considered to represent the armor of God in its fashion sense. Nazarene Amictus takes it’s form and technique from two major verses from ancient scriptural texts of the Christian Bible; Mathew 2:24; the title given to Jesus Christ) and Jeremiah 18; the story of the potter and clay. So far it’s been a praise worthy journey and more beautiful crafts are yet to come.
While steadily improving on my craft, it is right to admit Gods presence from the start and how ultimately his goodness and provision have carried me this far. How through this experience His guidance has led me to meet so many wonderful people in the fashion industry who knowingly and unknowingly has shown favor and liking to my work as welll as made visible my work for the world to see and I’m most grateful to each and everyone of them. As a believer of my work and craft, growth can only be achieved with gratitude. We keep pushing regardless and hope that as we grow, we encourage others.
