Nancy Pelosi Reacts To Trump’s Disappointing Rally Turnout: “That Could Have Been A Zoom Meeting”

Prior to Donald Trump’s rally in Tulsa, the President had been super amped up about returning to the podium to speak amongst his supporters. The Trump campaign had even boasted of a huge interest in the event, saying that 1 million people indicated plans to attend. However, that number fell short… very short at just 6,200 people according to The Hill.

Trump’s campaign is now blaming ‘radical’ protesters and the media who “attempted to frighten off the president’s supporters” with their warnings about the pandemic risk. However, reporters on the scene said no one was being turned away and images showed large sections of empty seating in the 19,000-capacity BOK Center. Earlier in the day, an outdoor event for the crowd was also canceled because no one showed up, despite the campaign hyping huge interest ahead of time.

Of course, everyone had a field day with Trump’s poor turnout. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi even poked fun about it, saying: “6200. That could have been a Zoom meeting.” She added, “Same energy, minus the #coronavirus risk.”

To make matters worse, it was also reported that teenagers allegedly reserved scores of tickets for the Tulsa event online – then failed to show up, thus preventing others from being able to attend. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., seemed to have been aware of the prank: “Actually you just got ROCKED by teens on TikTok,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter to Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale.

However, according to Fox News, Trump’s campaign rejected claims that TikTok and K-Pop fans sabotaged his rally:

“Leftists and online trolls doing a victory lap, thinking they somehow impacted rally attendance, don’t know what they’re talking about or how our rallies work,” Parscale said. “Reporters who wrote gleefully about TikTok and K-Pop [Korean pop music] fans — without contacting the campaign for comment — behaved unprofessionally and were willing dupes to the charade.”

Parscale continued:

“Registering for a rally means you’ve RSVPed with a cellphone number and we constantly weed out bogus numbers, as we did with tens of thousands at the Tulsa rally, in calculating our possible attendee pool. These phony ticket requests never factor into our thinking. What makes this lame attempt at hacking our events even more foolish is the fact that every rally is general admission — entry is on a first-come-first-served basis and prior registration is not required.”
