The duo, made up of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, announced the news this Monday with a Youtube video titled, “Epilogue.” Their longtime publicist confirmed the news but didn’t reveal why they decided to split after 28 years.

The duo is known for hits like ‘Da Funk’, ‘Robot Rock’, ‘Around the World’, ‘One More Time’, and ‘Get Lucky’.” They also released four studio albums and racked up many Grammy Awards over the years, including several for their 2013 album, “Random Access Memories.”

Daft Punk were also credited with co-production on several tracks from Kanye West’s Yeezus, including the formidable opening trio of “On Sight,” “Black Skinhead,” and “I Am a God.” They later collaborated with the Weeknd on the 2016 single “Starboy”—Daft Punk’s first Billboard singles chart topper—as well as a second hit, “I Feel It Coming.”
