On Saturday (November 29), Muni Long, born Priscilla Renea Hamilton, took to her Instagram with some heartbreaking news for fans. The R&B singer confirmed her exit from one of the most-anticipated live shows: Brandy and Monica’s ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour.’ She ultimately cited health issues as her cause for leaving.

For years, Long has been completely open about her ongoing battle with the autoimmune disease lupus. The debilitating condition has already resulted in several missed stops on the tour, which began on October 16. Filling in for some of the cities was fellow songstress Mya. Eventually Long returned to the stage at the top of this month. Seemingly feeling better than before. However, things have since changed.

The Grammy Award-winning singer has been notably winded on stage, even needing to take a moment and sit down to complete her brief opening sets. While pushing herself to the limit, Long now reveals it’ll do more damage to continue. On November 29, she confirmed the news on social media and wrote a heartbreaking letter to fans. She said:

“As many of you know, I’ve been battling some health issues throughout ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour.’ Despite doing everything I can to push through, my doctors have made it clear that it’s not save for me to continue with the remaining dates of the tour. I’ll truly miss seeing you all out there, and I’m incredibly grateful for the oppournity. Thank you to @brandy and @monicadenise for having me and sharing the stage with me. I can’t wait to see you all again. Stronger than ever.”
