MSCHF has created a cologne called “Smells Like WD40” based on one of the best household lubricants. The cologne, which contains scents of jasmine oil, oud, and rose petals, sold out minutes after the New York-based company launched the product. However, resellers are profiting from the product, selling for between $120-$130 on third-party sites such as eBay.

WD40 also released a statement about the product and said they are not affiliated with MSCHF, but they loved the effort that was put in place to make it happen. “Hey @mschf …smells like WD-40? More like smells like getting $#!% done right. How would you describe the smell of our original WD-40® formula? Drop your comments ⬇️ **We are not affiliated with MSCHF (but incredibly impressed by their DIY skills!) and don’t condone the use of actual WD-40® products on the skin or body**,” the company wrote in an Instagram post.

Fans of the art collective also expressed their thoughts about the cologne, and some even reviewed the fragrance just to get an idea of what WD40 could possibly smell like.

@flowershopperfumesco Does anyone want to smell like WD-40? If so, drop a line… The team at #MSCHF made all your weird fragrance dreams happen with this one. We got our hands on one and gave it a sniff. #fragrancereview #wd40cologne #mschfdrops ♬ original sound – Flower Shop Perfumes Co.

Reviewers said the cologne smells close to the household item and has a citrus-like smell.

MSCHF is known for making parody items and recently released an Astroboy-inspired boot.

The collective has had its fair share of controversies and prank products as they are infamous for their Jesus sneakers and Satan sneakers, large fruit loop cereal, a combination of Chanel No. 5 and Axe fragrance, and many more. Recently, MSCHF announced their big rubber boot, which the animated classic Astroboy reportedly inspired.
