The announcement was made on the official Mrs. World Facebook page on Tuesday and said the decision was voluntary on Jurie’s part. It reads, “The Mrs.World Inc. Organization has received the resignation of Mrs. Caroline Jurie as Mrs. World 2020. Her voluntary resignation was made solely by Caroline herself. We wish Mrs. Jurie and her family, all the best in their future endeavors.”
Additionally, the statement says Jurie will be replaced by the first runner-up, Mrs. Ireland World, Kate Schnieder. Jurie made headlines two weeks ago after she removed the winning crown from Mrs. Sri Lanka, Pushpika De Silva, and claimed she didn’t deserve the win because she was divorced from her husband. De Silva said she and her husband are living separately and they haven’t filed for divorce.

Jurie was arrested for the incident and was charged with assault plus causing property damage to the Nelum Pokuna Theatre. De Silva said she didn’t receive an apology from Julie and was willing to drop the charges against her as reported by TOO FAB.Â
“I tried to end this out of court, but she has refused. I can forgive, but not forget.”
