The confession comes a few weeks after the discovery of Legend’s body in a lake behind the Vinton Welcome Center on July 8. Kingrtrail was spotted by a truck driver who saw him crawling in a ditch. According to TOO FAB, authorities issued a warrant for Jack’s arrest following the identification of Legend’s body; Jack was apprehended at a train station in Meridian, Mississippi. After her arrest, she confessed to the murder of Legend and abandoning Kingtrail.

While escorted into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on July 20, a reporter asked Jack about her children. She responded, “Yeah, I had did that to them” and elaborated on why she abandoned Kingtrail. Jack stated, “I’m not sure. I was under the influence of drugs.” She now faces a bond set at $9.1 million.

Her mother, Conswella, recounted her last conversation with her daughter before the tragic events. They had met on July 6, but Jack left with her children afterward. Despite repeated attempts to contact her daughter, Conswella received no response. On Sunday, she received a puzzling message from Aaliyah, which included a picture of a car in bushes, appearing wrecked. Despite further calls, she could not reach her daughter.

Legend’s paternal grandmother, Dion Polk, said he had been living with her since May and last saw him on the same day she dropped him off with Conswella to attend a funeral. Polk contacted police and suspected that the body found behind the Vinton Welcome Center was her grandson.
