Savanah Glembin tearfully explained in a video that authorities took her son, Gunner, away after she uploaded a clip of her husband, Hank,  pushing him around while he was wrapped in cling film from the neck down. After the video was uploaded, hundreds of commenters were concerned about Gunner’s well-being, although Glembin claimed they were playing around. [This was] ‘just a funny thing Hank did because Gunner was getting into the stove that day and tried putting a fork in a socket’, she said in the clip.

According to the New York Post, the video became viral after another user, @auntkaren0, called Glembin’s content disturbing for wrapping the toddler in cling wrap for views: “I don’t understand how putting your toddler in an uncomfortable position is funny and then posting it for views. Not only did you not just do this for your own entertainment, you thought this was going to be everybody’s entertainment.

Glembin apologized to her fans who witnessed the video. She said, “I made the biggest mistake of my life posting this video. Genuinely and truly, he was laughing and smiling and was out of the plastic in under five minutes.”

She added that similar types of content are the reason why she doesn’t support family channels. Additionally, other users criticized Glembin’s follow-up video when she said Gunner was not in harm’s way when the video was recorded. “I’m confused because you say he was smiling and happy, but he looks like he’s been crying and is exhausted???” one user wrote.  Another said, “That baby had some glossy eyes, appeared scared and for DCFS to take the child for that video alone surprises me. I think there is more to this story.”

However, other commentators said this was a lesson for Glembin to learn, as making content involving a child’s well-being can be misinterpreted and lead to certain consequences. “Sometimes life comes with hard lessons. He won’t be taken away forever, but this was a lesson that needed to be learned. That wasn’t okay,” one TikTok user wrote.

Glembin said she was getting a large number of hate comments and considered making her page private. Additionally, she wanted to let people know that she doesn’t make money off of her TikToks despite having 1.1 million followers and only documents her life as a mom. A follow up video shows that Gunner was reunited with the family.
