Mother Arrested After Throwing Newborn Baby Out Of Window

A New York woman was arrested after she threw her newborn baby out of a window moments after she gave birth in the bathroom at home.

According to the Daily Mail, the newborn was found outside of a Queens home after his 23-year-old mother gave birth over the weekend. NYPD officers reported the baby boy was barely breathing and his umbilical cord was still attached along with suffering from hypothermia. The 23-year-old woman was arrested and taken into police custody at the 106th precinct in Ozone Park.

The newborn was transported to the Cohen Children’s Medical Center and was listed in critical condition. He is not expected to survive as reported by medical officials.

His mother also underwent a medical evaluation at Jamaica Hospital before she was taken to the police precinct. The discovery was made after a neighbor heard the baby boy’s cries while taking out the trash and she said she knew the mother but didn’t know she was pregnant. It was unclear how long the baby was laying outside but a witness wrote on the Citizen app that he was outside since the previous evening.
