More Teens Arrested For Carjackings In Washington D.C. Days After Uber Eats Driver’s Death

Two more Washington D.C. teens were arrested days after two teen girls, aged 13 and 15, were arrested and charged for the death of an Uber Eats driver.

The teen boys, both aged 13, carried out carjackings several blocks from each other before their arrests on Friday. The first carjacking took place around 7:10 p.m. on K Street and the other took place around 8:40 p.m. on O Street Northwest as reported by NBC Washington. Officers said the victims were in their vehicles when they were confronted by the boys. They said one of the boys threatened one of the victims with a handgun and told them to exit the vehicle. The victim followed their orders and exited the vehicle.

The teens attempted to drive off in the car but failed and fled the scene on foot. In the second attempt, the boys took off in the vehicle but the car has been recovered since then. They were arrested and charged with two counts of armed carjacking.

Days before their arrest, two teen girls have been arrested and charged for the murder of 63-year-old Mohammed Anwar. A cellphone video showed the moment Anwar attempted to stop the carjacking but the two girls allegedly used a stun gun to carjack the vehicle and caused the vehicle to speed off then flip over. The father and grandfather died from his injuries.
