Montana Man Charged With 64 Child Sex Crimes Receives 1-Year Deferred Prison Sentence

William Edward Miller Jr., a 51-year-old Montana man who was charged with 64 child sex crimes, including rape and sexual abuse of children, has received a one-year deferred prison sentence; and by this time next year, he could potentially petition to be removed from the sex offender registry.

The ruling by Judge Elizabeth Best arrives after Miller and prosecutors reached a plea deal subsequent to him pleading guilty to one count of felony child abuse and one charge of misdemeanor unsworn falsification; this after detectives discovered illicit, child pornography photos and bestiality web searches on his cell phone and laptop. Reportedly, the other 60+ charges against him were dismissed.

After striking the plea deal, Miller was sentenced to six months in the Cascade County Detention Center for misdemeanor, with credit for 384 days of time served. He’s also been ordered to complete sex offender treatment and to complete unsupervised probation for the next year. Officials say after completing his time he can apply for expungement — so long as he doesn’t commit any other crimes.

Miller, who’s been accused of raping a 14-year-old girl and allowing an 11-year-old boy to rape her too, was arrested in February 2019 and charged in August 2019 with 64 counts of sexual abuse of children.
