A Missouri man has been charged with domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child after an alleged violent attack on his girlfriend that reportedly began over a dispute about an Xbox.

According to Law&Crime, 22-year-old Quinton Peters allegedly strangled his girlfriend inside her home in Arnold, Missouri, on September 7 after learning she sold his Xbox when she discovered he was allegedly cheating. The victim told police that Peters threw her onto her bed, prompting her child to rush in and try to help. Peters reportedly threw the child onto the bed as well, though authorities later confirmed the child was not injured.

Violent Details In Complaint

Court documents state Peters allegedly continued his assault by placing his hands around the victim’s neck, lifting her off the floor, and banging her head against a wall. The victim said she was unable to breathe during the attack and only released when she collapsed on the floor. When officers interviewed her the next day, they noted red marks on her neck consistent with strangulation. Peters was taken into custody on September 8.

Charges And Bond Conditions

Peters was booked into the Jefferson County Jail without bond before a judge later set bail at $15,000. As part of his bond conditions, he is prohibited from contacting his girlfriend or her child and is required to wear a GPS monitoring device. Prosecutors charged him with domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
