Miracle was on the phone with the dispatcher while her mother, Viola Fair, experience labor pains; moments later, she was ready to give birth to Jayla. 911 Dispatcher Scott Stranghoener said Miracle followed his directions to a “T” and did an amazing job helping her mother give birth.

Fair said she was proud of her daughter since Jayla was born three weeks before her due date on October 23. “It was definitely a miracle because once I had the baby, she came out, I couldn’t really grab her and pick her up, and then Miracle came, and she wrapped her up in a towel,” she told Kens 5.

After the birth, paramedics from the Christian Hospital took Jayla and Fair for an evaluation. “We just picked the baby up first thing wrapped her in a blanket and yelled ‘Happy birthday.’ It was good. We love seeing good outcomes for families and stuff like that,” said Paramedic Katie Barbero

Miracle was later honored for her bravery by the paramedics for her brave work during her mother’s birth. She was awarded two certificates, a tablet, a safety pin, and a journal with the phrase “You can change the world, girl,” on the cover.

“Tonight we celebrated our local HERO! She earned a special certificate and a personalized shirt from CCE911, a pink stork pin (that EMS providers typically receive after delivering a baby in the field) and another special certificate from CHEMS, and from NCFR she received a tablet loaded with educational games and a special journal to document all the amazing things she has done and will do! Baby also received some gifts! A personalized onsie, a new outfit and a pack’n’play! We would be remiss if we didn’t mention another important person to this story…Taylor! Taylor is now a big sister herself! She was also bestowed with some great gifts.”
