‘Miracle Puppy’ Born With Six Legs And Two Tails Survives In Rare Incident
Socialites, get into this! A ‘miracle’ puppy named Skipper is getting a lot of attention for several reasons.
The cute Australian border collie was born at the Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma City with not two but six legs and two tails! The veterinarians believe that she was supposed to have another sibling, but the foetuses didn’t separate properly while they were in utero. It was also reported that little Skipper has congenital conjoining disorders called monocephalus dipygus and monocephalus rachipagus dibrachius tetrapus. To simplify it, Skipper has 1 head and chest cavity but 2 pelvic regions, 2 lower urinary tracts, 2 reproductive systems, in addition to extra tails and legs, TMZ notes.

Generally, animals born with deformities or extra features don’t survive for long but, Skipper seems to be in good health, making her a “miracle puppy.” Experts say that she will probably even live a long and healthy life! As of right now, she is being taken care of by the hospital staff and is being fed with the help of a bottle since she was abandoned by her mother.
As the news site notes, there’s no published research showing another dog with this condition born alive.
