The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul match, which fans were eagerly awaiting, has been postponed. The fight, originally scheduled for July 20, will not go as planned as Tyson recently experienced a flare-up of an ulcer this week.
“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” Mike Tyson said in a statement. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon.

“Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”
As we previously reported, Mike Tyson spoke out earlier this week after his medical emergency and assured fans he was okay. However, after a follow-up consultation, Tyson was advised by medical professionals that he could only do light training for the next few weeks.
“Now feeling 100% even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul,” Tyson wrote on X after reports of his medical scare.
As we previously shared, Tyson felt sick and lightheaded on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles and “became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing,” according to his representative who spoke to Page Six on Monday.
The representative also mentioned that Tyson received the necessary medical care and is now feeling much better, expressing gratitude to the medical team who assisted him. Additionally, the spokesperson clarified that the delay before takeoff was not related to Tyson’s medical emergency but rather was due to an air conditioning problem on the plane.
