Mike Epps is back in the headlines but not for his comedic work. This time, he found himself in a serious situation while traveling. According to an exclusive report by TMZ, authorities in his home state claim, they found a loaded gun in one of his bags at an airport and now the comedian is possibly facing criminal charges.

On Sunday, police responded to a firearms investigation at the Indianapolis Airport. Cops who arrived at the scene were told TSA found the gun while Mike was going through the checkpoint. The docs obtained by the news site state that the comedian noted he was in town for a show and forgot the weapon was in his bag.

While investigating, police say they found a .38 Special Airweight that had 4 rounds loaded. However, none were in the chamber. Although the gun and ammo were all taken as evidence, TMZ notes that Mr. Epps wasn’t arrested… but he’s still not in the clear. It was said that the report was forwarded to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if charges should even be filed.

Mike Epps nor his team has not yet released a statement regarding this latest situation.

Just last year, BMF star Demetrius ‘Lil Meech’ Flenory Jr. found himself in cuffs again after a gun was found on in his luggage while going through an airport. Aside from that the biggest airport situation came last year, Feb. 17, when Russian authorities accused WNBA Star Britney Griner of carrying hashish oil in her luggage at an airport near Moscow. Griner was traveling to Russia to rejoin her professional team, UMMC Yekaterinburg, which she played for during the W.N.B.A. off-season.

Griner was later sentenced to 9 years on Russian prison but thanks to President Biden, he negotiated a prison swap and brought her home.

After returning to USA, Griner thanked everyone who was involved in making sure she got back on US soil safely.

“I am grateful to each person who advocated for me, especially my wife, Cherelle Griner, my family, Lindsay Kagawa Colas and Casey Wasserman and my whole team at Wasserman, Vince Kozar and the Phoenix Mercury, the players of the WNBA, and my entire WNBA family, Terri Jackson, and the WNBPA staff, my Russian legal team Maria Blagovolina and Alex Boykov, the leaders, activists, and grassroots organizations, Gov. Richardson and Mickey Bergman of the Richardson Center, the Bring Our Families Home Campaign, Roger Carstens and the SPEHA team, and of course, a special thank you to President Biden, Vice President Harris, Secretary Blinken and the entire Biden-Harris Administration.”
