On Tuesday (June 7), the rumors of Atlanta rap trio Migos (comprised of Quavo, Offset, Takeoff) breaking up skyrocketed after the group cancelled their upcoming Governors Ball performance out of nowhere. For nearly a month, breakup rumors have been swirling and with the group pulling out, it didn’t help ease inquiring minds.

Offset & Cardi B Unfollow Quavo & Takeoff, Fueling Migos Breakup Rumors

As a refresher, last month rumors about the group splitting began making their rounds on the internet after Offset unfollowed his group members Quavo and Takeoff.

Now the unfollowings happened just as the two members, who are also related as uncle and nephew, announced that they would be debuting their joint single and video for “Hotel Lobby,” under their Unc & Phew monikers.

Fans immediately noticed that Offset, and even his wife Cardi B, had seemingly unfollowed Quavo and Takeoff — leading them to believe there was some kind of falling out that must have occurred behind the scenes leading up to the single release. Meanwhile, Takeoff was still following Offset and Cardi.

Migos Cancel Governors Ball Performance, Fueling Migos Breakup Rumors Again

Now, just a few weeks after the group began trending over an alleged breakup, an announcement went out about Migos now backing down from their scheduled performance at New York City’s annual Governors Ball Music Festival.

At the time, festival reps gave very little details on what had happened and what caused the sudden change up, but they did say that it was due to “circumstances out of our control.”

Replacing the rap trio, it was then announced later on Tuesday (June 7) that Louisiana rap veteran Lil Wayne would be joining the festival lineup and replacing the Atlanta group. Weezy is now scheduled to perform at 6:30 p.m. local time on June 10.

Migos Reps Blame Quavo’s Schedule For Governors Ball Performance Cancellation

However, after the social media whirlwind, reps for the rap group decided to shut down the rumors and give a little more insight on why the group had to pull out of their performance last minute.

A label rep told TMZ that the reason the group is no longer performing at this year’s Governors Ball is because Quavo is currently tied up filming a movie. They said that the rapper’s busy schedule is to blame for the cancelled performance; he simply could not find a way to work around this scheduling conflict.

Meanwhile, Migos labelmate Lil Yachty recently spoke on the breakup rumors with DJ Akademiks.

Trying to steer clear of the fiery flames, Yachty simply said, “I don’t know. … I haven’t seen them n****s in a long time.”
