Shaun Weiss, who played “Greg ‘Goldie’ Goldberg” in Disney’s 1992 film ‘The Mighty Ducks,’ reached his four-year sobriety milestone last Thursday (January 25). The actor posted a photo of himself on Instagram to celebrate. He captioned the photo, “4 years clean! Thank you. See you later.”

It’s reported that later that night, Weiss was surrounded by other ’90s stars as they partied at Corbin Bowl in Tarzana, California.

In attendance were fellow child actors like Thomas Ian Nicholas, who is best known for his roles in ‘Rookie of the Year‘ and ‘American Pie;’ Nate Richert, from ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch;’ Natanya Ross from ‘The Secret World of Amex Mack;’ Marty York from ‘The Sandlot,’ and also John Diresta from ‘Miss Congeniality‘ and ‘Mickey Blue Eyes.’

While there, Weiss thanked all of his loved ones and peers who have helped him stay on the straight and narrow path, and also those who helped him perform some stand-up comedy routines at the bowling alley party.

As mentioned, Shaun Weiss began his sober journey in January 2020 when he hit rock bottom. He was living on the streets and ended up getting arrested for burglary and meth. After Weiss was booked, his mugshot became infamous after going viral online.

In July 2021, Weiss completed a court-ordered drug program and subsequently had his criminal case thrown out. At the time, the District Attorney’s Office in Yuba County, California said that he had “demonstrated perseverance during his recovery complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic. He had to move treatment and transitional living programs on several occasions. He underwent dental reconstructive surgery, and had a close family member suffer a serious accident during his treatment.”

Since then, ‘The Mighty Ducks‘ actor has remained clean and returned to Hollywood, switching gears from the big screen to the comedy stage performing stand-up. Weiss has secured himself a part in the 2023 film ‘Jesus Revolution.’
