Michigan Father Of 5 Dies Of COVID-19 After Refusing Vaccine Weeks Before
Earlier this month, Antwone Rivers, a 39-year-old Michigan father of five, died from complications due to COVID-19, just weeks after refusing to received the coronavirus vaccine.
It’s reported that Antwone and his wife Hollie contracted the virus in mid-April, and despite having no underlying conditions, Antwone’s symptoms continued to worsen. While his wife began to feel better a week into being diagnosed, Antwone was soon admitted to a hospital and placed on a ventilator–but eventually every organ in his body began to fail. Hollie tells FOX2 that she and her husband took the virus seriously, wearing masks and social distancing, but they weren’t comfortable receiving the vaccine.

Hollie adds, “It was funny because two weeks prior to this happening, we were talking about it more saying, ‘Maybe we should get vaccinated. And now it’s like, a big loss for everybody.” While speaking on how she and their 5 littles ones, who knew their daddy as a “superhero,” are coping, Hollie says, “[It’s] hard – but it is even harder for our children. Our oldest, she is 13, and she is sadder for the younger two because they are 3 and 1. And she’s sadder they won’t have the memories the other children will have. Most of all it feels like a dream and it hasn’t hit me yet.”
