Michelle Williams is convinced that she, Beyonce, and Kelly Rowland will stage a Destiny’s Child reunion in the future, saying that while she has yet to talk to her band members about the possibility of a comeback, she’s confident it will happen “at some point.”

The 42-year-old We Break The Dawn singer made the comments in a recent interview with the New York Post, as she gushed about the ongoing love she’s received from fans who’ve supported the trio since their reigning days on the charts with R&B hits, including Lose My Breath, Bootylicious, and Cater 2 U.

Michelle explained that the group’s continued popularity has been “really kind of awesome,” adding that once things align for her, Kelly, and Beyonce’s schedule, she doesn’t doubt that there’ll be another reunion in the works. “When the time is right, it will naturally come up in conversation somehow,” she said. “We have fun together when we do decide to work with each other in that capacity.”

Michelle, who has since turned her attention to gospel music, doesn’t believe that either of her bandmates would be opposed to getting back in the studio to record new music material together. Still, she did add that it would simply be about finding the “right opportunity” to make it all happen.

Kelly has been busy working up her credentials as an executive producer on projects such as Lifetime’s Merry Liddle Christmas Baby and Merry Little Christmas Wedding, having also teased her return to the recording studio in late 2021.

Beyonce, on the other hand, continues to grow her empire with the expansion of her Adidas x Ivy Park collaboration while seemingly commencing work on her seventh studio album, which, according to Capital Xtra, could be released in the coming months, though an official date has yet to be announced by the Formation singer herself.

Touching on the fact that people continue to ask about potentially getting another Destiny’s Child album somewhere down the line, Michelle added, “We haven’t had an official album out together in 17 years and for the questions to be asked now is really kind of awesome.”

The group released their fifth and final studio album, Destiny Fulfilled, in November 2004, spawning the singles Lose My Breath, Soldier, Cater 2 U, and Girl, before disbanding to pursue their solo careers.

Their last major reunion was held at the 2018 Coachella festival, where Beyonce surprised fans with a medley of the band’s greatest hits for a two-week gig that also paid tribute to the culture of historically black colleges. Many fans went on to rename the electrifying performance “Beychella.”

Destiny’s Child has sold a reported 60 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling girl groups alongside TLC, Spice Girls, and The Pussycat Dolls.
