Michael K. Williams Death Ruled As Accidental Overdose Of Fentanyl, And Other Drugs

The Chief Medical Examiner in New York City has ruled Michael K. Williams’ death as an accidental drug overdose.

Williams’ official cause of death was ruled as ‘acute intoxication by combined effects of fentanyl, heroin, p-fluorofentanyl, and cocaine’ as per TMZ. As previously reported, “The Wire” actor was found unresponsive in his Brooklyn apartment by his nephew on Sept. 6 and the NYPD said in a statement that drugs and other narcotics were found at the scene.

Additionally, the manner of Williams’ sudden passing has launched a criminal investigation where the NYPD is currently searching for the source that provided the drugs to the actor.

Williams is well known for his roles on HBO’s  “The Wire” and “Lovecraft Country” where he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
