Michael Costello Apologizes To Leona Lewis For ‘Unintentionally’ Humiliating Her; Offers Heart-To-Heart
After much back and forth on social media, famed fashion designer Michael Costello apologizes to singer Leona Lewis for “unintentionally” humiliating her, and also offers a heart-to-heart conversation.
As we reported earlier, Leona took to her Instagram Story to recall the time she felt insecure and humiliated by Michael at a 2014 charity event. In her post she noted that Michael would probably find it as a shock and he did. He responded and claimed he was confused because h’s a fan of Leona as she is of him and they’ve worked together numerous times since the event. He even shared receipts of her team requesting styles from him as recent as this last month.

Since clarifying his confusion, Michael now took to his Instagram Story to publicly apologize to Leona, noting she’s been unresponsive behind the scenes. He wrote, “Dear Leona. Hello it’s Michael. I reached out to you directly in an Instagram DM after seeing you Instagram Stories, but I have yet to hear from you. I was really surprised to hear about your traumatic experience with me from the Go Red Women Charity Event in 2014. I don’t take accusations of body shaming lightly, as I have built a career of celebrating diverse women of all shapes and sizes. But if I did unintentionally hurt you, and you continued to support me, I want to apologize to you directly. This caught me by surprise, I am completely blindsided, as you have always looked fabulous in my gowns, and I though you truly love them.”
