Miami Dolphins Get Clearance To Sell Out 65,000-Person Stadium Amid Coronavirus Pandemic
While Florida has been operating differently throughout the whole coronavirus pandemic, the Miami Dolphins have now gotten clearance by Governor Ron DeSantis to sell out their 65,000-person stadium.
According to Fox Sports 640 host Andy Slater, Gov. DeSantis permitted the NFL team to pack out their Hard Rock Stadium venue, which holds 65,000 people. However, ESPN host Cameron Wolfe adds that the Dolphins are going to stick with the 13,000 limit, initially given due to the state’s social distancing regulations, for their next home game — which is scheduled for October 25 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Moreover, the state, which is among the hardest hit amid the pandemic, has now surpassed 15,000 deaths and more than 722,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Since mid-August, cases and deaths have been on the decline.
Meanwhile, the league is gearing up to play a full schedule amid the pandemic without teams in isolation (or a bubble), as we’ve seen with the NBA.

From Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel: "We'll continue to follow CDC guidelines & put everyone's safety first & monitor things as they go. Right now w/ positivity rates where they are, we feel that we can keep people safe in a socially distanced environment, which is our 13K capacity."
