While the kidnapping of four Americans that left two dead in Mexico last week has gained plenty of media attention, many people don’t seem to be aware that Zindell Brown and Shaeed Woodard weren’t the only two people killed during the Gulf Cartel shooting.
33-year-old Mexican local Arely Servando is said to have been standing within close distance to Brown, Woodard, LaTavia McGee, and Eric Williams when they were ambushed after getting lost on their route to the clinic for McGee’s tummy tuck surgery. The group had traveled from South Carolina to Brownsville, Texas, before crossing the border and entering the city of Matamoros — which is commonly known to be heavily populated by drug cartel members.

Mexican Gulf Cartels have allegedly wrote “an apology letter” to the families of the four kidnapped Americans ( two of them slain)

According to the Daily Mail, Servando worked at a Biblical Summer School, after finishing her studies at the National College of Technical Professional Education. The publication claims she had just gotten off a bus when one of the bullets fired by the Gulf Cartel struck her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
As we previously reported, the cartel group issued an apology in a hand-written letter obtained by the Associated Press on Thursday, where they expressed their sorrow for the deaths of not just Brown and Woodard but also Servando, saying that the five men responsible for the attack had been turned over to authorities.
“We have decided to turn over those who were directly involved and responsible in the events, who at all times acted under their own decision-making and lack of discipline,” the letter read. Meanwhile, people on social media are continuing to speculate why McGee needed three people to accompany her for a tummy tuck procedure in Mexico, particularly after Williams’ wife had said in a recent interview that her husband never disclosed to her that he was leaving the country.

A new report via CNN says that even though the Gulf Cartel came forward and apologized for the crime they committed against not just the Americans but a local Mexican last Friday, the investigation pertaining to the incident is still ongoing. Though they claim to have handed over the people they claim are at fault for the tragedy, authorities still plan on wanting to authenticate whether these men were actually the potential suspects in question.
A source tells CNN that though the letter does, in fact, appear to be legit, U.S. and Mexican law enforcement are not entirely convinced about the sincerity of the apology. Hollywood Unlocked revealed earlier this week how a 24-year-old man named Jose N. was arrested in connection to the kidnapping as police believe he was guarding the hideaway property where McGee and Williams had been tortured before being rescued on Tuesday.
