A case from last November revealed that Customs and Border Protection officials were inspecting a Jeep Cherokee in Arizona and found 60kg of methamphetamine. The driver, Alyssa Navarro, said she was recruited by a drug cartel after meeting a man named “George” while playing Grand Theft Auto Online. Officials said Navarro and the man started talking on Snapchat then later met in person in Phoenix.
George asked the young woman if she wanted a job as a “runner”, which would require her to ship electronics that were only sold in Mexico and she would be paid up to $2,000 per trip as reported by Forbes.

When CBP officials inspected the vehicle, they noted that the drugs were not hidden in any electronics but were found in the fuel tank. She was also told to meet up with two individuals at a gas station in Mexico.
She was later charged with conspiracy to import and sell methamphetamine along with possession. Navarro pleaded not guilty to the charges.
