In a case straight out of a true crime special, a Memphis man and his alleged mistress have been arrested after police say they tried to burn his wife alive while she was inside her car.
According to FOX 13, the incident unfolded earlier this week when the victim was sitting in her 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, which was parked in front of three other vehicles. She told police she suddenly heard a conversation coming through her Bluetooth connection from one of the nearby cars — a black BMW.
She recognized a man’s voice instructing someone in a silver SUV to “light that **** up!” Moments later, another woman on the scene appeared to be directing the man, who got out of the BMW and began pouring gasoline on her Camaro. Realizing her life was in danger, the woman quickly crawled out through the passenger-side window to escape.

Wife Says She Recognized Husband’s Voice
When she got out of the car, the victim told police she saw the man pouring gasoline and immediately recognized him — it was her husband, Travis Davison.
She also spotted another vehicle on the scene, and inside were Davison and his alleged mistress, Jessica Rios, both reportedly watching as the plan unfolded. The victim told investigators she had been married to Davison for five years and knew his voice without question.
Police say the couple’s alleged plan to torch the Camaro could have been deadly if she hadn’t escaped in time
“All parties could have stopped the offense to preserve (the woman’s) life. Instead, the actions continued, and the person then lit the vehicle on fire as (the woman) was crawling out.”
Charges and Next Steps
The Memphis Police Department arrested both Davison and Rios. They are each charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection with the plot.
