Ezekiel Kelly is in custody after a nearly three hour long manhunt, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested after wrecking near Ivan Road and Hodges Road.

As we previously reported, the 19-year-old was on Facebook live walking into an AutoZone store, aiming a gun at a man, and pulling the trigger. More videos began to quickly surface the internet. Kelly was in his car driving around shooting out his window at random bystanders and he also captioned his live video as, “I ain’t dead yet killing streak 426k”

The City of Memphis issued a statement a few hours ago saying, “If you do not need to be out, please stay home!” the city tweeted.

Later at night, with the active shooter still at large, the University of Memphis locked its gates and public transit suspended service until an arrest could be made. The minor league Memphis Redbirds halted their game and cleared the field of players.

Police posted a photo of the 19-year-old suspect and identified him as Ezekiel Kelly. They said he was initially in a blue or silver sedan but later was driving a gray Toyota SUV with Arkansas plates AEV63K.

Court records show a first-degree murder warrant was filed against Kelly on Wednesday, but it was not immediately clear if that was connected to the shooting rampage or an earlier incident.

Police did not say how many shootings they believe Kelly had carried out Wednesday or where they took place, but he reportedly claimed responsibility for five in one of the videos.
