Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have expressed their concerns regarding Spotify allowing COVID-19 misinformation on their platform.

The streaming music platform faced controversy after Joe Rogan reportedly expressed his thoughts about the pandemic and the COVID-19 vaccine on several episodes of his podcast. Several artists have removed their entire music catalog and asked for the boycott of the platform.

On Sunday, a spokesperson from the couple’s Archwell Foundation said the couple expressed their concerns regarding the content Spotify allows on their platform.”Last April, our co-founders began expressing concerns to our partners at Spotify about the all too real consequences of COVID-19 misinformation on its platform. We have continued to express our concerns to Spotify to ensure changes to its platform are made to help address this public health crisis,” the statement reads.

“We look to Spotify to meet this moment and are committed to continuing our work together as it does,”

The couple signed a $25 million deal with Spotify in 2020 and vowed to produce podcasts that “build community through shared experience, narratives, and values.”
