Mayor Bill de Blasio Declares State Of Emergency In NYC

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio declared a state of emergency after 95 confirmed cases have emerged throughout the city. He believes it will reach 1,000 within the next week.

According to the New York Post, De Blasio said during a conference at City Hall that he expects the outbreak to get “worse before things can get better”. He is planning to permit 10 percent of city workers to work from home and another 20 percent to work on various schedules but public schools will remain open.

“This will not be over soon. It’s going to be a long, tough battle”

Earlier today, Gov.Cuomo announced a plan to close all places with an occupancy of 500 people or more and for smaller places with 500 or less occupancy in half. De Blasio stated he agreed with Cuomo’s decision.
