Matthew McConaughey Hosts Virtual Bingo With Isolated Seniors

Seniors at a living facility in Austin were given quite the surprise when Matthew McConaughey popped up for a game of virtual bingo.

Due to social distancing, visiting has been banned and the staff are unable to be as interactive with the seniors, so the seniors at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living were overjoyed to be joined by Matthew McConaughey during their Zoom bingo video chat, while they quarantined and cut off from their loved ones.

Sweet videos posted to social media show the actor celebrating as one senior win the game,

“Thank you to Matthew, his wife Camila, and his mom Kay for hosting our residents for a few rounds of virtual bingo. Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink,” the facility said.

The actor has been a strong advocate for the stay-at-home order that has been placed in many cities around the U.S. He recently released a PSA on the importance of social distancing.

“To all the youth in the city of Austin plus all the students at the University of Texas, the virus has come on and you’ve been asked to grow up sooner than you thought you were going to have to. You had responsibilities laid on your lap that you didn’t bargain for,” McConaughey said in a video.

“You just went off to Spring Break, you got back with a tan, you feel great. What’s wrong with that? Not blaming any of that. But no matter how good you feel right now, stay home if you can.”
