In a recent interview in NYC, Mathew Knowles, the father of Beyoncé and former manager of Destiny’s Child, passionately defended his family members against criticism surrounding hair care and diva accusations.
While speaking with TMZ’s @seleahsimonr, Knowles was asked to share his thoughts on some of the criticism his daughter Beyonce and his ex-wife Tina Knowles has been receiving since dropping their haircare line Cécred. While addressing the skepticism, he emphasized that his daughter’s knowledge in hair care is extensive due to her upbringing in the salon business. With Tina Knowles, they successfully ran a renowned salon in Houston for nearly two decades… and Mr. Knowles’s believes that speaks for itself. Period! Despite online criticism questioning Beyoncé’s authenticity in hair care due to her use of hair extensions, Knowles firmly asserted that her expertise in maintaining healthy hair is unquestionable.
Of course, the conversation then shifted to Kelly Rowland, another former Destiny’s Child member, who recently made headlines for walking off the set of the “TODAY” show due to dissatisfaction with her dressing room. Knowles, who views Kelly as a daughter, expressed disbelief at the notion of her possessing a “diva” attitude. He stood by Kelly’s side, emphasizing that “Kelly is a sweetheart.”

As we previously reported, Kelly Rowland was set to appear on the Today show to promote her new Netflix movie, Mea Culpa last month. She sat for Savannah Guthrie, at which some people bristled when the Today host tried to get Rowland to talk about Beyoncé, which the singer politely sidestepped. Afterwards, Rowland was set to be a guest host on the show’s fourth hour alongside Hoda Kotb. However, things went left. During the fourth hour, Kelly dipped and it wasn’t because of Beyonce questions. Sources claim that she was not pleased with how the dressing room looked.
As a reality of that, Kotb was joined by Rita Ora and the two were discussing Ora’s new bob.
Either way, Kotb still invited Kelly back on the show and even claimed she texted the actress’s hoping to make this right. It was even revealed last week that the studio has plans to give the dressing room a complete makeover.
