A Maryland man reportedly won $150K after hitting the lottery thrice with the same number.

The 52-year-old winner from Waldorf has remained anonymous, and officials said he had been awarded $150,000 within the past 11 months from Maryland’s Pick 5 game using the number 48548. According to PEOPLE, the man says he cannot take all the credit as he thanks his wife for reminding him to remain consistent. Nicknamed “Big Winner,” the man says he placed a $1 bet for two tickets purchased on May 18, 2022, leading him to win $100,000.

“It hit last year, and it hit again. My wife said, ‘Let’s play this number,’ and we keep winning with it,” he explained. Officials also said some winners have the idea that they will continue the same winning streak with the winning numbers.

“He believes that most winners stop playing after their lucky number is drawn and incorrectly think their number will never hit again.”

The Charles County resident picked up his winnings on April 13 and his total prize was $50,000. The winning tickets were sold at the Big Mouth Beer, Wine, and Liquor store on Crain Highway and the store owners will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning number.

He plans to use the money to take his wife on a “special vacation” but didn’t disclose what that would be,
