42-year-old Shawn Marshall Myers hosted two parties during the first few weeks of quarantine back in March. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office said the first gathering took place on March 22 where 50-60 people partied at his Hughesville home and were told to shut down the party by deputies. However, Myers continued his antics and hosted another large gathering on March 27 less than a week after he was told to stop hosting the parties.

The state’s attorney said Myers was very argumentative while being confronted by deputies and claimed: “He and his guests had the right to congregate.”

“Beyond being argumentative, Myers directed his guests to stay in defiance of the governor’s orders and the officers’ lawful orders to disband the party.”
