Disney + and Marvel are starting 2024 with a bang and have fans excited with the upcoming release of “Echo”

“Echo” is a Marvel character who first appeared in Daredevil in 1999. The series follows Maya Lopez’s journey as she becomes a fugitive from Wilson Fisk’s organization after she shoots him in the Hawkeye finale. Seeking refuge, she flees to her hometown in Oklahoma, aiming to evade Fisk’s pursuit. However, her return compels her to confront her turbulent past, particularly her complex ties to Fisk. Amidst these challenges, Maya explores her Native American heritage, rekindling connections with the community and family she had once left behind.

Starring Alaqua Cox in the lead role, alongside a talented ensemble featuring Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene, “Echo” promises a captivating portrayal of Maya’s intricate journey. Notably, the return of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) and Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (Daredevil) adds depth to the series, further intertwining it with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series, created by Marion Dayre, draws inspiration from the compelling Echo comics crafted by David Mack and Joe Quesada.

Maya Lopez’s character is an exciting addition to the MCU roster and the series is pivotal as it represents the first indigenous and deaf lead in the universe. The show is one of a kind and will hopefully lead to a collective of more stories in the future.
