Marvel Is Reportedly Considering Replacing Jonathan Majors ‘For An Actor Like Damson Idris’ In New Film Following His Arrest

Sheesh. Looks like things might continue to go south for Jonathan Majors. According Yahoo News, Majors’ is set to star in MCU’s Multiverse Saga, playing different versions of Kang, the big villain who will face the Avengers in Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

Ever since Majors was arrested in New York City for allegedly assaulting and strangling a woman; who is reportedly his girlfriend his career hasn’t been the same. However, an insider close to the film claims that Marvel already has a type of actor in mind to replace Majors. The studio is apparently looking for an actor like Damson Idris, the outlet reported.

Idris’ name reportedly began to ring bells for the new film during The Hot Mic Podcast with Insider Jeff Sneider who revealed Marvel could be looking to recast and looking for a “Damson Idris type star.” “And again, even though there hasn’t been any movement on the Jonathan Majors front, I’ve heard that’s the kind of actor who, like, if Jonathan Majors got the boot as Kang, someone like Damson Idris is the type of the person that [Marvel] may look at to replace him.” Sneider said.

As we previously reported, Majors was reportedly dropped b y his manager and PR rep and now new reports are surfacing saying the actor is no longer apart of “The Man In My Basement” or under consideration for upcoming Otis Redding biopic.

The rising star starred in films like ‘Creed III,’ “Ant-Man,’ and more after the alleged assault. Meanwhile, Majors’ team is shutting down the claims and is calling cap on the alleged physical altercation.

The US Army also decided to cut ties with Majors as a spokesperson in their ad campaign the alleged domestic dispute.  Majors criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry spoke with LA Times and claimed they received two written statements from the woman in question saying she recanted her statement.

Not long after the actors arrest the military organization released a statement saying,”The US Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest. We recently released two ads in which Mr. Majors appears,” they continued. “While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.”
