Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene confronted Dr. Anthony Fauci, accusing him of wrongdoing and refusing to acknowledge him as a doctor.
Greene’s latest outburst occurred during a hearing of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, where some Republicans alleged that Fauci withheld information about the origins of Covid-19 and funded research that led to the deadly pandemic.

“Do you think that’s appropriate? Do the American people deserve to be abused like that, Mr. Fauci, because you’re not ‘Dr.,’ you’re ‘Mr. Fauci’ in my few minutes,” she said, before adding, “No, I don’t need your answer.” Rep. Jamie Raskin quickly jumped in and asked, “Just in terms of the rules of decorum, are we allowed to deny that a doctor is a doctor just because we don’t want him to be a doctor?” Green responded back by saying, “Yes, because in my time, that man does not deserve to have a license. As a matter of fact, it should be revoked, and he belongs in prison.”
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) stated that it was not acceptable for Greene to address Fauci without using the appropriate title.
“It’s completely unacceptable to deny Dr. Fauci, who’s here, a respected member of the medical community, his title. And that’s actually a personal attack on his character,” he said.
This led Greene to claim that Fauci was not respected and to continue refusing to address him as doctor. Wenstrup then called on all committee members to follow decorum rules and be careful with their comments.
Greene finished her questioning by requesting a criminal referral against Fauci for “crimes against humanity.”
“You know what this committee should be doing? We should be recommending you to be prosecuted. We should be writing a criminal referral because you should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. You belong in prison, Dr. Fauci,” Greene said, without allowing time for Fauci to respond.
