Atlanta native and singer, Mariah the Scientist, has recently pleaded not guilty in a club brawl case that occurred back in March. As we previously reported, the incident took place at Cavo Kitchen Cocktails, a lounge located in Atlanta, on March 28.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, a woman arrived at the police precinct on March 29 and reported that Mariah the Scientist, whose real name is Mariah Buckles, had attacked her the previous night at the bar. The victim, who did not have her glasses on at the time, initially couldn’t identify the person responsible for the assault. However, she later discovered that it was in fact Miss Mariah. The victim claimed that she had no prior interaction with the singer and was unsure why she was attacked.
The witness statement revealed that Mariah forcibly removed the victim’s wig and dragged her across the room, resulting in minor scratches on her feet. Mariah the Scientist was subsequently arrested on May 1 and charged with battery and simple battery. However, she was released on the same day.
In a recent update on the case, Mariah the Scientist has pleaded not guilty to the battery charges. Her attorney, Brian Steel, filed a waiver of arraignment on her behalf, requesting a jury trial. Although Mariah has not publicly addressed the incident, it appears that she is prepared to address the matter in a courtroom setting.
The outcome of the trial will determine the resolution of this case and shed light on the events that transpired that night at the Atlanta lounge. Although she has not publicly commented on the incident, Mariah the Scientist and her legal team will present their defense against the charges, and the court will ultimately decide the verdict based on the evidence presented.
