Carey, who has 19 number one hits which is more than any other solo artist — leads the class of inductees for this year. While she’s known for her killer vocals and five-octave range, she also co-wrote most of her hits, including “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which also hit number one just last month. The diva took to Instagram on Thursday to react to the exciting news. She wrote,

“I can’t believe it… The SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME!!!! 😱🤯 This is truly one of the greatest honors of my career. I’m so proud and humbled to be in the company of such legendary songwriters – both previously inducted as well as the incredible class of 2020! 🙏🙏🙏🦋 @songwritershof.”

Meanwhile, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, professionally known as The Neptunes, are among the most successful producers of all time. They co-wrote hits for Justin Timberlake (“Rock Your Body”), Nelly (“Hot in Here”), and Britney Spears (“I’m a Slave 4 U”).

Joining the three are the Isley Brothers, Eurythmics, Rick Nowels, William “Mickey” Stevenson and Steve Miller who make up the rest of the 2020 class.

According to CBS, the acts officially will be inducted at the Songwriters Hall’s 51st annual Induction and Awards Dinner on June 11 in New York City.
