Mariah Carey Reportedly ‘Quit’ Management Deal With JAY-Z’s Roc Nation, Planning New Album & World Tour
After signing to JAY-Z‘s Roc Nation back in November 2017, Mariah Carey, 51/52, has now reportedly “quit” her management deal with the 51-year-old rapper turned mega mogul and his company. It’s also reported that she’s no longer listed as a client on the firm’s website.
A source close to the soulful songstress tells The Sun that the two superstars got into a very angry argument ending with Mariah walking out on her deal with JAY’s company. The source reveals, “Mariah and JAY had an explosive meeting which did not go well at all. She has made it clear she wants nothing more to do with him and has called it quits with Roc Nation.”

The source adds, “She will formally depart in the next few weeks. It is a shame because they had done some great work in the last few years. But this meeting couldn’t have gone much worse. Mariah has been talking to other managers and thinks she has found someone who she feels has full belief in her as she takes her next steps. There is a heavily R&B- influenced album being finalized at the moment and she is planning a world tour for next year, so she isn’t letting this stand in her way.” Elsewhere, a source close to the situation refuted these claims, telling the DailyMail that they’re “simply not true. Mariah’s relationship with Roc Nation ended amicably and Mariah and JAY-Z are on great terms.”
