Marc Jacobs Believes Clothing Has No Gender
While Harry Styles, Young Thug and others have been blasted by the likes of Candace Owens for wearing dresses and not appearing ‘manly,’ legendary designer Marc Jacob is giving his insight on fashion and clothing, adding that it has no gender.
“I’ve worn women’s Prada for, I don’t know, 20 years now, and I’ve worn dresses from Comme des Garçons’ menswear collection” Jacobs said to Town and Country.
“And people say to me, ‘Oh, did Comme do that for men?’ And I’m like, ‘What’s the difference?’ Whether they did it for men or women, I’m wearing it. So I’ve always felt like clothing and jewelry have no gender. It’s been gendered over the years by people who thought differently, right?”

“A twinset always belonged to a different gender, a strand of pearls belonged to a different gender, and you see with young kids that today, it’s like, no, it doesn’t,” Jacobs added.
