42-year-old David Werking will now receive compensation from his parents after a federal judge ruled that he didn’t abandon his property at their home. The lawsuit states Werking left his belongings in his parents’ home in Grand Haven after he moved to Muncie, Indiana. Before his move, he lived there between 2016 and 2017 but left a stash of VHS tapes, DVDs, and toys worth $25,000.

The lawsuit was filed in 2018 and it argued that “some of the property was pornographic in nature. None of the property was illegal in nature.”

Paul and Beth,68, now have to figure out an agreement to pay their son for the damages until February. Prior to the lawsuit, Paul sent his son the following email claiming he did his son a “big favor” by getting rid of the pornographic content.

‘It is gone. It has either been destroyed or disposed of. I may have missed a few items that are now in your possession but, at this point, if you don’t have it, it is gone. Ditto for your sex toys and smutty magazines. Frankly. David, I did you a big favor by getting rid of all this stuff.’
