Man Who Filmed Rodney King Being Beaten By LAPD Passes Away From Covid-19
George Holliday, the man famously known for capturing the LAPD’s brutal beating of Rodney King in 1991, has reportedly passed away from Covid-19. He was 61-years-old.
TMZ reports that Holliday passed away on Sunday after he was hospitalized in Simi Valley, California in August. Holliday reportedly had pneumonia and his condition deteriorated in weeks and he was put on a ventilator. Per reports, he was also suffering from blood clots, internal bleeding and he had not been vaccinated against the virus.
At the time Holliday, who was a plumber, filmed four officers beating Ridney Kings. Many believed that if he had not filmed the incident, it would have been unknown to the public. His video was a staple part of the officers being charged.

Holliday contacted KTLA5 after the beating and the station became the first to air the footage that would be worldwide sparking outrage and protests across the globe.
Last year, Holliday put his famous camera on auction starting at $250,000.
